If you look in the video you can see Gerald Degroot, one of the founding members of the Dharma Initiative in the study group outside

I know it doesn't start for another month and a half, but I'm so excited! Anyone going to Comic-con? I wonder if there is an LU booth.

I'll let you know if I hear anything interesting. I am following Doc Jensen on Twitter and he is there right now, apparently in awe of the entire experience LOL. He is the reason I actually checked out the Lost University website and then came racing here, to see if you folks knew yet (of course, DDB was already on top of things.) ;)
If you don't know who Doc Jensen is, go to EW.com and search under Lost. He is without a doubt the single-greatest Lost nerd in the world. His Twitter name is EWDocJensen.

"Lost University?" So far it sounds really lame. :(

Okay, Australians can't even enrol. I "may still acquire a Student ID and participate through [my] BD-Live enabled Blu-ray player", except I don't have BD-Live enabled Blu-ray player.
I'm out.
I'm not even convinced it's an ARG in the sense The Lost Experience was. It looks like a trivia-related promo to sell the Blu-Ray. And the fact that it's on the ABC website suggests it's not going to be the cult obsession an ARG could be, with information you actually have to hunt for.

I couldn’t disagree more. This is the first one I am excited about. True, it seems like less of a game, but seems as if it will drove deeper into the world of Lost. LOVE IT.
Silly test’s, too clicking on pictures to find hidden objects. I will take how Einstein’s theory of time relates to the show, or how the Hiros could relate any day to controlling an unmanned sub to find 815. But to each his own.

There is another thread in the MF. My Main observations so far have been the calender on the upper left that has clickable dates, but so far clicking dates doesn't do anything.
University established in 2004? Year of 815 crash I guess...
Start date Sept 22 hmmmmmm:rolleyes:
I have sent an enrollment request in the drop down Navigator thingy, but still no confirmation email as yet.
Someone in the other thread mentioned calling a phone number(818 824 6300) in the second picture (shown on Dark UFO) But when you call it reveals the name of a professor(Adam Nussdorf), who is on sabbatical until September 22 2009, no voicemail yet...
Finally, while this is more of a meta reality experience as someone said in the MF, it does seem directly promotional of the release of the Blu Ray set. I can't believe that TPTB would exclude anyone who hasn't upgraded to blu ray yet, but doggone if those things haven't been selling in this lousy economy, so it makes sense...

I will take how Einstein’s theory of time relates to the show, or how the Hiros could relate any day...I don't know what you mean by "Hiros" but as for "droving" [diving? delving?] into the background of Lost, isn't that what LP is all about? And nobody here tries to sell you merchandise. :p
LOVE IT.
Again, I and my compatriots are currently excluded from what seems more like a very commercial marketing campaign than a compelling (global!) ARG, so it's a little hard to get enthusiastic. I really think it's just an interactive feature of ABC's website, not an ARG. An ARG wouldn't be pushing baseball caps and Blu-rays.
Sorry for the sarcasm, I'm just not on board with this. Also I'm not trying to make fun of your language, I just don't know what you mean by Hiros and droving. Doesn't droving involve herding sheep or cattle across vast tracts of bushland? ;) :)

Well, I'm not sold on this whole thing yet either. It would be great to have the whole ARG crew back together. It was how I got started on LP. Maybe they'll bring Hans out of retirement! I miss that stern bastard.

When you hit the star button during the Nussdorf voicemail, it asks for a password. Somebody crack this.

Yeah...I don't think so.

I've tried several number combinations, but its not clear how many digits this password even is. I feel like the answer would lie somewhere in the LOST University site, but there's no professor page for a Nussdorf for any class.

Has anyone tried to run "Adam Nussdorf" through an Anagram Generator?

In the video, it shows a sample schedule of a student named 'Justin Barber'. I wonder if he may be someone to pay attention to. Also, on the card with the Prof. Nussdorf's number a second phone number is scratched out.
Adam Nussdorf is credited on IMDB. As I only made an account to respond to this topic, google brings it up.
Two episodes are referenced in that page. Worth looking into.
Some of the names Lindelof thanked during the Comic Con panel, might be part of this game.
The countdown clock on the website details a specific time. Friday, August 21, at 7pm Eastern Time. When the clock reads 108:00.

i haven't upgraded either but i wasn't under the impression that you have to buy/use the DVD set to play along...sounded like those who have it will be able to access more information which i'm sure will be shared...we'll see...
the theme is interesting...love the idea that we will be digging into the show and it's concepts -it's what i had been hoping for this last go round...the only thing that's bugging me is this advancement thing, seems alot like the DI test feature which turned out to be a bust...i hope the tests are better designed/are fair...

more marketing that would really suck ! I would be pissed and have to blog or something lol :p:rolleyes: Blue Ray moved in to my hometown and brought some good things to the downtown area but making over 150 ppl homeless that are low-income is not a nice thing.

Let's be rational, here... they have a catalog of courses, one listed with Jeremy Davies, and others listed with professors from well-recognized colleges. At first this sounds impossible to pull off in any degree, even if it was simply interviews with these people... but I can't believe they'd get hopes up with that kind of material just to say "Lol, no, it was all pretty fake."

Well, it's hard to say really. The damon, carlton, and a polar bear thing just looks like a viral marketing campaign to sell posters and Lost University is a marketing campaign to sell the season 5 blue-ray. It does let you sign up and take a test there though and "classes" are set to begin in December. So, we'll see.
