I noticed that there isn't a thread for the "Mysteries of the Universe" segments and these segments are one of the reasons why reverendmilo wanted a sub-forum. So the thread is about everything revealed in the segments.
The films refer to the organization as a puzzle with pieces that keep appearing, so if we follow the segments we will slowly learn more about DI.

Here are the dates that the segments will be released

Part 1 - July 23, 2009
Part 2 - August 4, 2009
Part 3 - September 8, 2009
Part 4 - October 15, 2009
Part 5 - November 16, 2009

LOST ARGs says that the staff logo looks like a real life version... I don't know if this is important or not. Maybe it means that in the 3rd video they go to the island, don't know how though.

They could have had someone "undercover" in 70's Dharma time infiltrate the DI.

So we know Dharma was a little more free about letting people leave and come back to the island, Faraday and pregnant women for example, so, could the jumpsuit bought in Nevada could belong to someone we know from the 70's? Anyone we know from Nevada that went back to or was in the 70's?

Seems to confirm some things like brainwashing into a cult- (reference Oldham from "He's Our You".) Can anyone get stills of the invoices- they look like fun. I see one for "Candy" -mmm.

Why would it be released early? The "KATU 2" in the bottom left hand side are the call letters for ABC's affiliate in Portland, Oregon. I thought that was funny. Lots of weird names on those documents too.

You think it could be a fake? Would Hulu run a fake- or do they get stuff directly from the original producers? As vs Youtube.

The station logo when I watch is the local abc station in my area- looks like it's just showing the local connection to abc.com.

Yeah Hulu just puts the local station logo based on your IP address.

Secondly does anyone have any idea who the man in the interview is?
But cool easter egg in that he mentions that his colleague was a chemist named Oldham, who we saw in "he's our you".

Looked at the screencap of interview man on lost ARGs and picture of Abbadon in Lostpedia -back and forth- and they do seem a lot alike.

Also- wonder if Paul Scheers "wacky beards" in his blog might point to the WAKY invoice being for the fake beards and theatrical stuff the DI had.

Yeah now you got me thinking. A lot of people think that WAKY is connected to the 70's radio station. But it hasn't really been confirmed, I mean what products or services could a radio station have that the DI could have any use for?

On the other hand, looking at the screen cap on Lost Args of the WAKY invoice- it looks like a radio tower image is behind the WAKY logo. Can't really read anything on it though.

Except- it might say "The Broadcasting (something)" next to WAKY.

Maybe DI took out recruiting ads?

what I don't get is why they didnt mention the purchases orders for all the new weapons, there was a sturm ruger receipt sitting on the table, but mention m1 carbine ammo. I'm starting to question the competence of this fictional 80's daytime journalism.

WAKY would be an east coast station if it is indeed referring to radio. If I remember right, the first letter of a station's call sign = east of the Mississippi - "W" and west of the Mississippi - "K".
Not that that's relevent to anything, but you never know.

Do submarines even require a special kind of fuel? I doubt it. Most of the old ones probably just used diesel, right? Yup, that's what good ole wiki says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Submarine#Propulsion

lol, whoever wrote this messed up big time. Next thing you know we'll find out that Dharma ordered 500 feet of flight line.

Hey the invoice for Candy Co. couldn't possibly be for the 35 year supply of apollo bars could it?

NVM I just did extensive research and now i know that Hanso bought out the company.

Yeah, about that. Perhaps because of the bizarre properties of the Island all the fuel needs to have special additives.
We know the TPTB* are King fans, if you recall in The Langoliers how since they were basically out of sync with time the matches and gasoline didn't burn correctly, almost as if they were flat like old soda.

Remember the Dharma bus Hurley and friends got started? How long was that gasoline sitting for?
Granted, the shelf life of gasoline is a much debated topic, but all sources I've come across seem to agree that leaving gasoline in a vehicle for an extended period of time causes it to deteriorate faster as well as clog the carburetor with deposits left behind as the gas slowly evaporates. It could be these proposed mystery additives that allowed the gas in the VW to ignite and the engine to start.

*Yes, I realize this ARG/Marketing campaign is the work of ABC, but as we've seen in the past they do try to orient their viral stuff to tie into the show, all be it ham-fistedly.

Naw, it's a mistake.

And even if you are correct and they need special additives to make the trip to the Island. That's still not "submarine fuel", because no other submarine would need/use it. That's just fuel additives, chemicals. Essentially, mystery additives != sub fuel.

It's no big deal. I just think it's amusing.
