22 out of 23. I wish they would tell you what you got wrong. I'm fairly certain I got the mural question wrong.

Still, I tested too high to have to take "Lost 101" so that's something!

The Lampost says something about signing up for things in October, but the main classes require that you get the Blu-ray dvds with internet connection from all I've read on the site.

Video still freezing.

There is a forum section where they said they were fixing and to clear your cache if it was stuck. I did and it worked OK. Forum has folks from all over-the Russian comes out in Russian script, etc.

So far my only comment is the site is a little glitchy, a little like DWY was. Hopefully this will be interesting. The one thing I forgot to check was the names of the other deities that were answers for the 'ol four toed. Those names might be worth researching...

Can we decide on one thread for the continuing general discussion of LU? End up posting twice or not seeing how things have progressed otherwise it seems to me. I suggest the one with the most on it so far- the ARG:Lost University one. Then we can have other threads for say, the entrance test, the Lost 101 video, etc. So if you agree___________________

PLEASE POST GENERAL DISCUSSION ON ARG: Lost University.

Carlton posted on LU boards under name Carltoncuse. In reply to someone who said thanks for opening LU early he replied:
Good, I'm glad everybody likes it. In approximately two short months everything will be up and running. As for the Blu-Ray dilemma, we are working on alternate solutions for those of you who don't have a Blu-Ray player or a PS3. Again, thanks to all of the Lost fans who keep us going. I'll keep you all updated on any information about either the Season 5 Lost DVD's, or any other questions you have REGARDING LOST UNIVERSITY, NOT our TV show. But stay hungry for some more invigorating Lost, early 2010. Inquisitiveness is golden. Thanks again, Carlton.

Greetings Carlton. I find it very ironic that I can't fit my whole name as my username on my own site. Anyways, I just wanted to say again, as Carlton said, thank you all for your support Lost fans. Without you, we wouldn't of had the opportunity to continue with Lost. Thanks everybody and we WILL be posting updated information about all of your LU concerns. -Damon

Edit-It's pointed out in the thread that this-(wouldn't of had ) is pretty bad grammar- really Carlton & Damon?

We encourage the student body of LOST University to engage in an open exchange of ideas and academic debate. However, it is against policy for participants to misrepresent themselves as faculty. The administrators and professors of LOST U as well as the producers, cast and crew will be clearly identified.

So I guess that means no Darlton on the forum yet.

Funny how the moderators or Admin seem go by ArrowStation.

Also interesting that we are sure Arrow Station is legit because he/she can lock threads. That would be a good way for any "official " Lost member to prove that they are real. They can just say- "Hi- this is the real Carlton- this is my user ID- this thread is locked!" Then we would be able to identify him.

If you are going to do the courses it says things like homework and schedules will be there (eventually!). I had to clear the cache on my computer to see the 101 video- though it seems like that would have been fixed if you changed to a different computer?

There is a new ABC podcast with him- looks like he is a script coordinator on Lost and also got the job of overseeing LU. The podcast is about LU and yes, yes, you do need Bluray BD Live. Doc Artz has a link to it if you don't want to dig-

See LU for a new tutoring tab- describing some interactive lectures with tutor "Tom" that will start 11/11. These should be for everyone- no bluray involved.

Greg Nations is a crew member off the show. He's basically Darlton's human Lostpedia. Look him up on the Wiki. So it's unlikely it's an anagram, since he's a real person ;)

I suspect that Randy Nations may have been named in his honour, though.

OK, I am wondering... how do I sign up for classes and what-not? I can't figure out how to do anything on LU... or is it just too early still?
am I going to HAVE TO buy the blue ray DVD set to participate and/or watch the videos or will I be able to participate without buying it? I don't even have a blu ray player and I am not going to buy the dvd set just for LU. but I still really want to participate in the ARG and/or at least watch the videos!
does anyone have any idea? any help would be much appreciated!

Well I'm still waiting on my blu-rays to be delivered so I'm not certain, But I think you do need bd-live (on blu-ray) in order to participate, at least that is my understanding.

saxon. the don.
12-08-2009, 10:34 PM
poo! well I hope I can at least WATCH the lessons online, if I can't participate...

but you're saying it hasn't started yet, right? so there is still some sliver of hope for those of us without bd-live or blu ray players? I hope so.. I hate when they make REALLY cool stuff like this that is exclusive to those people who have some fancy expensive new hardware that most people wouldn't have. just doesn't seem productive to limit who can participate to such a small group of people... only to fuel their blu-ray sales a little bit. this sucks!

Just Thinking
12-09-2009, 12:15 AM
Yeah- the Bluray discussion has been going on since it was announced. As of now- you have to have the bluray s5 DVD set with a bluray player that does BD live so you can connect to the internet to do LU. Only the forums, tutorials and newsletter and Lost 101 are at the LU site if you are not in the courses. You can enroll and go look at the forums for more discussion.

Some students may be experiencing difficulty entering our campus. The Office of Admissions is presently working to ensure access to all enrollees.

This issue will have no impact on class standing, GPA or diploma distribution. Your Current Student ID and PIN will remain valid.

There were problems enrolling outside the US in the beginning, don't know if they were ever resolved. It should be immediate. Is your system updated OK?

Semester 2 starts right after midnight EST tonight it looks like from the counter on the LU site. I'm hoping you can still get back into Semester 1 after 2 starts, as people are still getting S5 and blu-ray set ups.

Here is a tweet from Carlton from Jan 13-

"Working on my commencement address as Co-President of Lost University. I wonder if we can lure Urban Meyer to coach the Polar Bears."

Looking forward to that!

Thanks to Patmc for this video.

The Davies course is now available OK.

I have enough credits for "graduation" which is going to be Feb 12th per the LU site.

The question is now- how to be one of the first 108 for a diploma signed by Damon and Carlton. Don't know if it's the first to get the credits, the first to hit the "graduate" button that is in the student records page, or maybe the first 108 to hit that button on Feb 12th. I think I'm done hitting f5 waiting for live links after all the poster drops though.

Just Thinking
02-10-2010, 10:03 PM
Graduation news-The first 108 have now gotten emails on the LU site- through the bluray, not the binder- like this:

"Subject: First 108 Graduates

Congratulations! You are one of the first 108 LOST University Students to qualify for graduation. In the next few days you will receive an email to the address you provided at enrollment from our staff requesting further information needed to personalize and ship your diploma to you. If you do not receive an email within the next 7 business days, please be sure to check your spam folder.

Samantha Thomas
Office of Registrar;
LOST University"

So happy- I have managed to be in the 108! So check back on the LU blu ray site if you think you finished in time- and don't forget the spam folder of the email you signed up with.

The countdown clock shows graduation at 12 pm EST Thursday 11th/Friday 12th- so midnight on Thursday in other words.
